Chi Alpha Delta sorority was established at University of California, Los Angeles in 1929. The sorority was founded by Japanese-American students, who were rejected from a Panhellenic Greek sorority.

As a result, the students formed their own sorority that quickly became popular. The sorority had only 14 members at the beginning, who were Japanese-American students.

Chi Alpha Delta sorority often organizes fashion shows and celebrates different holidays. These events are intended to attract more members to the sorority.
